WILDFIRE EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Syria’s western coastal region has been devastated by fast-moving wildfires. Action For Humanity has launched a rapid response.
OUR EMERGENCY RESPONSE
We are rapidly identifying critical needs, delivering targeted support to the communities most affected. This includes emergency water supplies, fuel to frontline machinery, and mobilising trained volunteers to assist with containment and relief efforts. Our emergency response teams are ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches those in urgent need as quickly and efficiently as possible.
OUR EMERGENCY ACTIVITIES
Action For Humanity is actively responding to the wildfire crisis through a coordinated network of emergency teams, community partners, and local organisations. Working closely with local government bodies, first responders, and civil defence units, we are delivering urgent support where it’s needed most.
WATER TRUCKING
Five high-capacity tankers from Idlib and Aleppo are delivering emergency water. 250 family water packages have also been distributed.
FUEL SUPPLY
Over 5,000 litres of diesel delivered. Fuel is prioritised for firebreak machinery and emergency vehicles.
FIREFIGHTING TOOLS
75 firefighting tools, including saws and fire beaters, have been provided to frontline emergency fire teams in Qastal Maaf and Kassab.
URGENT FOOD AID
500 ready meals, 200 hot meals, 400 fruit portions, and 500 bread bundles have been distributed to families and responders.
EMERGENCY HUBS
Two caravans have been installed for responders and volunteers. Food packs, non-food items, and hygiene kits are being distributed to displaced families.
COMMUNICATIONS
Radio repeaters and technical equipment are being deployed where limited connectivity is hindering emergency response efforts.
CURRENT SITUATION
Uncontrolled wildfires, driven by wind speeds exceeding 60 kilometres per hour, prolonged drought, and soaring temperatures, have torn through dense forests. The presence of landmines and unexploded ordnance is further complicating firefighting efforts.
This is the current situation:
+6 villages fully evacuated
+Thousands at risk, displacement ongoing
+Power outages reported after damage to Al-Basit power station
+Major access roads blocked
+Smoke reaching Hama and Idlib, prompting health warnings
