MUMTAZ PLEA FOR HELP

But the worst pain wasn’t losing my home. It was losing my child, Maddaser. He was only one year old. Just a baby...

I LOST MY SON MY HOME AND MY HOPE

"My name is Mumtaz Bagum, and my heart carries a pain no mother should ever bear. "

But the worst pain wasn’t losing my home. It was losing my child, Maddaser. He was only one year old. Just a baby. He didn’t understand the water was dirty, he was thirsty. I tried everything, but he grew weaker and weaker in my arms. The sickness took him from me. I held him, helpless, as he slipped away.

Before the flood, life was simple but full of blessings. My husband and I worked hard in the fields, and our animals gave us milk and food to sell. We didn’t have much, but we had enough. We were happy. Now I  have nothing. My children are sick, my home is gone, and the land I depended on is buried in mud.

I am a mother who has lost everything, yet I cannot let go of hope. I must keep going, for my children. But I cannot do it alone.

I dream of seeing my children laugh again, of giving them food to eat, a warm blanket, and a safe home where they can heal and grow.
