Give Your Fitrana

As we enter the blessed final days of Ramadan, we are reminded of the important role Zakat ul-Fitr plays in spreading compassion, justice and hope.

Give Your Fitrana Today

As we approach the blessed final days of Ramadan, we are reminded of the powerful role that Zakat ul-Fitr (also known as Sadaqah al-Fitr) plays in spreading compassion, justice and hope. Given before the Eid prayer, this charitable obligation helps ensure that vulnerable families have food to celebrate Eid and can share in the joy of the day.

At just £7 per person, your contribution to Action For Humanity helps provide food, medical aid and essential support to families in Gaza, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan and other fragile, crisis-affected communities across the Muslim world.

What is Zakat ul-Fitr

Zakat ul-Fitr is a form of charity given to the poor at the end of Ramadan. It is obligatory for every Muslim who has the means to do so and must be paid on behalf of each member of the household, including children.

Amount: Traditionally one Saa` (about 2.5 to 3 kg) of staple food such as wheat, barley, dates, or rice. In today’s terms, this is estimated at £7 per person.

Per Person: Must be given for each individual in the household.

Timing: Should be paid before the Eid al-Fitr prayer, ensuring those in need can also join in the celebration.
