For me, challenges are more than physical achievements. They build resilience, confidence, mental well-being, and a strong sense of purpose. I run Ashton Hiking Club (Sisters), where I organise and lead local and international hikes for women, helping them build confidence, prepare for bigger goals, and enjoy the outdoors in a safe, positive, and welcoming space.
I also work independently as a Mountain Leader for charities, community groups, councils, and organisations. I’ve led hikes for Muslim hikers, sisters’ groups, mixed groups, interfaith groups, young people, and older participants, tailoring each experience to the group's needs.
My work includes supporting council programmes that use outdoor activities to improve community wellbeing. One of my proudest moments was delivering a ten-week challenge programme for women from the BAME community, helping them progress from short park walks to climbing a mountain. Watching their confidence grow reminded me why this work matters.
Before entering the adventure and charity sector, I spent fourteen years teaching Computer Science, Business Studies, and IT at secondary level. That background shapes my calm, supportive leadership style and helps me guide participants as they train, fundraise, and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach.
I’m passionate about adventure, exploration, and creating experiences that inspire personal growth while making a positive difference to others.
