Sudan Emergency Appeal

Across Sudan, families are starving in silence. War has stolen their homes, harvests, and hope, but we can still reach them.

FAMILIES FACE VIOLENCE AND STARVATION

Sudan is facing one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world today. Since conflict erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in April 2023, the country has descended into chaos.

Two-thirds of Sudan’s population, nearly 30 million people, now require humanitarian aid, and over 11 million have been displaced, creating the largest displacement crisis in the world. Food insecurity is catastrophic. 24.6 million struggle to find enough to eat, and two million are on the verge of famine.

Families face violence and starvation. Hospitals are down, water is scarce, and diseases spread. In besieged cities like El Fasher, Darfur, South Kordofan, and Blue Nile, civilians lack food, medicine, and shelter. Parents must choose between remaining amid airstrikes or fleeing.

OUR RESPONSE

Action For Humanity has been on the ground in Sudan since 2024, delivering life-saving food and nutrition support where few others can reach. Through local partnerships and community-led programmes in South Kordofan and Blue Nile States, we are:

This is the current situation:

+Providing daily hot, nutritious meals for over 18,000 displaced people, including 700 children.

+Operating community and hospital kitchens in conflict-affected areas.

+Running nutrition and child protection awareness sessions for caregivers.

+Training local volunteers in food hygiene and management to sustain community kitchens.

Our projects combat hunger today while laying the foundations for resilience and recovery tomorrow.

A VOICE FROM SUDAN

“We’ve fled twice since the fighting began. My children ask when they’ll eat again, and I have no answer. The community kitchen here is saving our lives.”

Fatima, displaced mother, South Kordofan

Fatima’s story echoes across Sudan. Families like hers are displaced repeatedly, surviving on whatever they can find. Each meal through our community kitchens offers a moment of relief and a reminder that the world has not forgotten them.

Donate today to help us keep the kitchens open, and keep children fed through Sudan’s hunger crisis.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What caused the crisis in Sudan?

Violent clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces erupted in 2023, spreading across the country and devastating infrastructure, agriculture, and essential services. Millions have been displaced, and access to food has collapsed.

What is the situation now?

As of late 2025, famine has taken hold in several regions. Food prices have skyrocketed, and aid delivery is restricted by fighting and damaged roads. Families are surviving on the bare minimum.

What is Action For Humanity doing to help?

We’re providing daily hot meals, nutritional support, and psychosocial care through community-led kitchens in South Kordofan and Blue Nile. We also train local volunteers to run these kitchens safely and sustainably.
