Main Job Purpose
Here at Action For Humanity (AFH), we are looking for a Digital Content Creator & Copywriter. You will join us on a full-time basis, in office, and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £27,000 to £32,000 per annum (depending on experience).

As our Digital Content Creator & Copywriter, you will be playing a pivotal role in engaging audiences and sharing impactful stories. The Digital Content Creator & Copywriter will be assisting, creating, managing, and maintaining content across our social media platforms and website. This individual will collaborate with various departments, including the graphic design, videography teams and website, and take the initiative to gather information from reports and the Programmes department.
The role also includes opportunities to travel internationally, documenting and promoting the vital work we do globally.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
1. Content Creation
• Write engaging, compelling, and action-oriented copy for social media platforms.
• Update and maintain website content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and impact.
2. Social Media Management
• Maintain and oversee social media accounts across different field offices and departments.
• Schedule, post, and monitor content on our social networks to ensure consistent messaging and engagement.
3. Website Content Management
• Regularly update copy on the website, landing pages, and blog to ensure a strong digital presence.
• Optimise content for SEO and user engagement.
• Work with the marketing and design teams to enhance web content and improve user experience.
4. Collaboration
• Work closely with the graphic designer and videographer to create cohesive campaigns.
• Coordinate with various teams to align content with organisational goals.
5. Information Sourcing
• Take initiative to gather relevant data and stories from reports and the Programmes department to create meaningful content.
6. Innovation & Energy
• Brainstorm and execute creative ideas to engage and inspire audiences.
• Bring enthusiasm and a proactive mindset to all tasks and projects.
7. Travel Opportunities
• Represent the organisation abroad, capturing and sharing impactful stories of the people we support and the work we do.
8. Other
• Any other reasonable tasks as assigned by line manager.
What we are looking for in our Digital Content Creator & Copywriter:
Education
• Bachelors in a related field such as Marketing, Media, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, etc) and/or CIM level 5 or relevant experience (Essential)• Evidence of continuous professional development
Experience
• Experience working in a charity or non-profit organisation.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO, and basic graphic design tools.
• Knowledge of international humanitarian work or similar sectors.
Skills
• Proven experience in content creation, website management, and social media strategy.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with an adaptable tone and style.
• Experience in updating and managing website copy and content.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• A self-starter with the ability to source and collate information independently.
• A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
• Passionate about making a difference and sharing stories that inspire action
• Passion for humanitarian causes and empathy for those in crisis.
• Strong attention to detail, with excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Languages
• Strong written and spoken English essential.
• Other languages such as Arabic, Urdu or Bengali beneficial but not essential.
