HELP MALAK
IN GAZA
Malak is a young girl in Gaza learning how to live again after a life-changing injury. Her family were forced to flee their home as the conflict intensified.
SHE LOST HER FAMILY. NOW SHE HOPES TO WALK AGAIN.
"She hopes for a prosthetic leg so she can walk again and live like other girls.”
When the war forced us to leave our home in Gaza, we fled with nothing but the clothes we were wearing. Like many families, we moved from place to place searching for safety until we found shelter in a school.
But the building was struck during an airstrike. Malak lost both of her parents and three of her siblings that day.
Thank God she survived. Malak was pulled from under the rubble with severe injuries, and doctors were forced to amputate her leg to save her life. She underwent several surgeries and continues to live with the effects of those injuries.
Today Malak is recovering under my care. We are doing everything we can to support her, but life has become extremely difficult. Work has stopped, and we struggle to cover even the basic costs of treatment and daily living.
When Malak sees other girls her age running and playing, she wishes she could do the same. She hopes for a prosthetic leg so she can walk again, go out with friends, and live like other children.
Malak has already lost so much. With support, she can receive the treatment and rehabilitation she needs to rebuild her life.
