UK Ramadan Response 2026

This Ramadan, we are supporting refugees and people seeking asylum here in the UK with dignity, care, and consistency.

Over 10 days, we will deliver 3,000 hot iftar meals and 3,000 suhoor packs at a hotel in Manchester that is currently hosting refugees and asylum seekers. For many residents, this support ensures they can break their fast and begin with nutritious, culturally appropriate food.

Alongside daily meal provision, we are delivering a small Eid gift project to ensure families and children can mark the end of Ramadan with joy and inclusion.

Supporting Communities At Home

Our UK domestic work focuses on both immediate relief and long-term empowerment.

We provide food and essential items to families facing hardship, and offer education, vocational training, and mentorship programmes for refugees and people seeking asylum. Our initiatives support women and young people in overcoming barriers and building independence.

By working closely with community partners in Manchester and beyond, we are helping create pathways toward stability, opportunity, and belonging. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, we have delivered culturally appropriate halal hot meals every week to vulnerable members of our community, preparing and distributing nearly a quarter of a million meals to date.

This Ramadan, your support ensures that families observing the month under challenging circumstances are not forgotten here at home.

AFH

MENTORING & EMPLOYMENT

Our partnership with 'We Love MCR Charity' supports highly qualified refugees and asylum seekers accessing training, mentorship, and employment opportunities. This initiative aims to bridge the gap for skilled individuals who face barriers in entering the UK job market, providing them with the necessary resources, networks and placements to start their professional journey anew.

Football

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

This project is run by qualified football coaches and is designed to improve mental health and wellbeing, reducing inequality for asylum-seeking men in temporary accommodation. The sessions aim to improve mental health and minimise social isolation, providing a safe environment for positive interaction.

AFH

WOMEN & CHILDREN

AFH is collaborating with Saheli, an organisation that provides support and refuge from domestic violence for women from BAME communities and their children. Saheli provides safe spaces, culturally sensitive support, and language assistance by providing emergency refuge accommodation and specialist counselling.
