PAKISTAN CATARACTS SURGERIES
Restoring sight, dignity, and opportunity for hundreds of vulnerable people in Sindh, Pakistan.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
In Sindh, Pakistan, preventable blindness caused by untreated cataracts robs thousands of their independence, livelihoods, and dignity. For many in low‑income and remote communities, the high cost of surgery and lack of accessible healthcare means living in darkness when treatment is within reach.
Action For Humanity Pakistan is launching the Cataract Surgeries Initiative II (CSI-2), a four-month project that will provide free surgeries, glasses, and medicines to restore vision for the most vulnerable. Building on our past success (599 surgeries performed in Sukkur and Karachi), this initiative will expand to reach the Dadu and Thari Mirwah districts, engaging local partners to increase access.
Over 800 people will be screened at community eye camps. At least 300 patients will receive cataract surgeries with full post‑operative care, while hundreds more will benefit from glasses and essential eye medicines. Local healthcare staff will also be trained, ensuring long‑term impact beyond this project.
