HYGIENE KITS IN GAZA

Restoring dignity and protecting health amid one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

After months of relentless conflict, families in Gaza face catastrophic living conditions: overcrowded shelters, destroyed infrastructure, and limited access to clean water or sanitation. With more than 1.9 million people displaced, the risk of disease is increasing rapidly.

Action For Humanity, in partnership with the Humanitarian Relief Foundation – Switzerland (FSH), is delivering emergency hygiene kits to 250 of the most vulnerable displaced families, around 1,500 people, across the Gaza Strip.

Each kit includes hygiene and menstrual health supplies for women, children, and people with disabilities during crises. Items are locally procured, assembled by trained volunteers, and distributed via community hubs to ensure access, safety, and accountability. This two-month project (August–October 2025) offers immediate relief while empowering local actors to continue hygiene practices beyond the project.

WHAT WE ACHIEVED

+Distributed hygiene kits to 250 displaced families across Gaza.

+Prioritised women, children, and persons with disabilities for assistance.

+Partnered with trusted local CBOs for beneficiary verification and monitoring.

+Strengthened local capacity through orientation on safeguarding and accountability.

+Accountability systems in place.

SUSTAINABLE HYGIENE SUPPORT

Although an emergency intervention, this project strengthens local systems for hygiene management and community preparedness. By empowering local partners, improving procurement networks, and promoting reusable hygiene items, we are laying the foundation for sustainable hygiene support. The tools, partnerships, and monitoring systems developed will continue to benefit displaced families and communities beyond the immediate crisis.
