RESTORING MOBILITY IN SYRIA
Providing prosthetic limbs to survivors of conflict, helping them reclaim dignity, independence, and hope.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Conflict in Northwest Syria has left thousands of people with life-changing injuries. Many survivors of airstrikes and bombings face amputations, which makes daily life and livelihoods almost impossible. Without access to proper prosthetic limbs, individuals are left in pain, reliant on others, and unable to rebuild their lives.
Action For Humanity carried out a six-month project to provide high-quality prosthetic limbs for those most in need in Idleb and Azaz. The project fitted five beneficiaries with custom-made prosthetic devices, along with training in their use and maintenance, restoring not just mobility but also confidence and dignity.
Through this intervention, beneficiaries like Haylman, a young doctor who lost her leg in an airstrike, can now walk to work without crutches and continue her medical career. Others, like Mustafa, Khaldoun, and Ahmad, are rebuilding their livelihoods and finding new ways to support their families.
