Fresh Food Reaches Displaced Families in Gaza
Access to food in Gaza has become increasingly limited. Ongoing disruption to markets, rising prices, and restricted supply routes mean many families are struggling to access even basic items. For those living in displacement camps, fresh food has been out of reach for extended periods.
In response, Action For Humanity delivered 491 fresh fruit and vegetable parcels to displaced families across Gaza City, including Al-Saftawi, Al-Rimal, and Tal Al-Hawa.
A Daily Struggle to Access Food
Across Gaza, families are facing growing pressure to secure food. Many have been displaced multiple times, arriving in camps with limited resources and no reliable access to markets.
Even when food is available, rising costs mean it is often unaffordable. Fresh produce in particular has become difficult to access, despite its importance for maintaining health, especially for children and vulnerable individuals. The reality is that millions of people are struggling in a region that has known little else than years of blockades, air strikes, and the threat of starvation never far away.
Delivering Fresh Fruit & Vegetables
Each parcel weighs approximately 15–16kg and is designed to support a family for around 10 days. Parcels included a range of fresh vegetables and fruit such as tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, onions, eggplants, lemons, and apples, items many families had gone without for weeks. For some, this was the first time in months they had access to fresh produce like fruit.
Our distribution reached 491 families, supporting approximately 2,236 people. Alongside improving access to nutrition, these distributions also provide reassurance for families living in difficult and uncertain conditions.
Supporting Palestinians Under Pressure
With supply chains disrupted and infrastructure under strain, delivering aid in Gaza remains challenging. Where possible, Action For Humanity works with local suppliers and communities to source and distribute food, helping ensure support reaches families more quickly, while also supporting what remains of the local economy.
Our teams on the ground continue to reach communities facing shortages of food, water, and essential supplies. Distributions like these are part of a wider effort to support families through prolonged displacement and limited access to basic services.
