Inside Our Emergency Deployment to Lebanon
As airstrikes intensify across Lebanon, families are being displaced once again. In recent months, the situation has deteriorated rapidly. What was already a fragile environment, shaped by years of economic collapse and political instability, has been pushed further into crisis.
Despite ongoing ceasefire discussions, conditions on the ground remain volatile, with continued strikes, insecurity, and growing humanitarian need. Over 1.2 million people have now been displaced. Many are sheltering in schools and public buildings, often arriving with little more than what they can carry. Access to food, clean water, and medical care is becoming increasingly difficult.
Responding as the crisis unfolds
In response, Action For Humanity has deployed a team to Lebanon to support communities as the situation continues to change. This is not a static crisis. Displacement is ongoing, needs are shifting, and access remains unpredictable. Responding effectively requires presence, being able to adapt, scale, and deliver support in real time. On the ground, that response is already underway.
Emergency medical support on the ground
Access to healthcare is another growing concern. With ongoing insecurity and strain on existing services, many people are unable to reach the care they need. In response, emergency medical support, including ambulance services, is helping transport and treat those affected. For families facing injury, illness, or displacement, this support can be the difference between receiving care and going without it.

Scaling up food support
One of the most immediate needs is access to food. As families are displaced, many lose access to kitchens, income, and local markets. In response, community kitchens supported by Action For Humanity have rapidly scaled up operations.
In areas such as Saida, these kitchens are now serving up to 5,000 hot meals every day. For many families, this is not just a meal, it is consistency in the middle of uncertainty. A moment of stability in an otherwise disrupted daily life.
A bakery built for the community
Alongside emergency food distribution, longer-term solutions are also being developed. During the deployment, the team visited a newly established community bakery. Here, fresh flatbreads are being produced and distributed to families in need, a simple but essential staple that can be relied on daily.
In a crisis where access to food is unpredictable, initiatives like this help create continuity. They are not only about meeting immediate need, but about strengthening local systems that communities can depend on.
A multi-layered crisis
Lebanon’s crisis is not unfolding in isolation. It sits within a wider regional context where communities across the Middle East are facing overlapping challenges — conflict, displacement, and economic pressure. What makes this moment critical is not only the scale of need but the speed at which it is increasing. And while global attention may shift, the reality on the ground does not.
Continuing our work
Humanitarian response does not end when the headlines fade. It continues in the daily work of preparing meals, delivering bread, transporting patients, and reaching families where they are. Action For Humanity’s teams remain on the ground, working with local partners to deliver support where it is needed most, adapting as the situation evolves.
