Statement on Bombing Near Hope Camp 4 - Action For Humanity

Action For Humanity strongly condemns the bombing that occurred today near Hope Camp 4, a displacement site operated by our organisation in Deir Al Balah, Gaza. At approximately 3:30 PM, a strike hit the eastern gate of the land on which the camp is located, just 100 meters from its main entrance.

This attack claimed the lives of three individuals connected to the camp community, including a displaced resident, a relative of a displaced woman living in the camp, and a member of the family that has made the land available to host displaced people.

This was not just an attack on civilians, it was an attack on humanitarian infrastructure. Striking areas where displaced families are seeking safety is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

Thankfully, no further injuries or physical damage were reported among other camp residents. However, the psychological toll on these already-vulnerable families is deep and lasting.

Action For Humanity is continuing to provide support to those affected and is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of our teams and the people we serve. Our operations in Gaza remain active. We urgently call for the protection of all humanitarian sites and for immediate, unhindered access to deliver life-saving aid to those in desperate need.
