Ghusl & Kafan Community Workshop | Sisters Only

Join us in Ashton-under-Lyne for a practical sisters-only workshop designed to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to carry out Ghusl and Kafan with care and dignity.

Led by Dr Shameela Islam-Zulfiqar, this three-hour accredited CPD workshop will guide you through the essential principles of washing and shrouding the deceased, combining theory with practical learning.

The session will begin with an introduction to the key principles and guidance surrounding Ghusl and Kafan, followed by a live demonstration of the washing and shrouding process.

You will then work in small groups of six to eight participants, where you will have the opportunity to put what you have learned into practice through supervised, hands-on demonstrations. Natural breaks will also be included throughout the session, with time allocated for prayers.

Whether you want to feel better prepared to support your own family or develop the skills to serve your wider community, the workshop offers a supportive environment in which to learn, practise and ask questions.

Proceeds from the event will support bereaved families across the UK.
