For children in Gaza, conflict has taken away so much more than their homes. Schools have been destroyed, education disrupted, and countless children have been left without a safe place to learn.

According to UNICEF, around 765,000 children in Gaza need access to education, while more than 58,000 have lost one or both parents. Behind these figures are children whose futures have been profoundly affected by conflict.

Action For Humanity is working with local teachers and education specialists to restore safe learning spaces where children can continue their education and receive vital emotional support.

Restoring Education in Gaza

We're currently supporting five schools in Gaza, working alongside local teachers and psychosocial support specialists to help children return to learning.

Our aim is to support 700 children, providing access to education alongside activities that support their emotional wellbeing.

Through the programme, children can access:

• Education: Arabic, English, mathematics, literacy and numeracy support.

• Psychosocial support: Sessions designed to help children process their experiences and develop emotional resilience.

• Sports and recreation: Opportunities for children to play and socialise.

• Creative activities: Art, music and choir sessions that encourage self-expression.

• Life skills and protection: Practical learning and child protection education.

• Family engagement: Support for parents and caregivers to remain involved in their children's education.
