WHAT'S HAPPENING IN LEBANON?
Lebanon entered 2026 facing deep humanitarian and economic pressures, with 2.99 million people estimated to need support. Vulnerable Lebanese families, displaced Syrians, Palestinian refugees and migrants are among those affected by years of economic decline, pressure on public services and prolonged displacement.
A sharp escalation in hostilities from March forced more than one million people from their homes. By August, around 860,000 people had returned, but some 360,000 remained displaced, including at least 22,000 living in collective shelters. Many families returned to damaged homes and communities where water, electricity, healthcare and education services had been disrupted.
The crisis has placed further pressure on food security and essential services. More than 700,000 people were still affected by damage to water infrastructure in parts of southern Lebanon in August, while nearly one in four people was expected to face crisis or emergency levels of food insecurity.
OUR WORK IN LEBANON
Action For Humanity supports conflict-affected and displaced communities across Lebanon through trusted local partners.
Our work includes emergency food and hot meals, healthcare, shelter and protection assistance, alongside education, livelihoods, disability inclusion and seasonal support. In the first half of 2026, our Lebanon response reached more than 81,000 people and distributed more than 81,160 hot meals.
Since the Saida community kitchen was established in 2023, Action For Humanity and our partners have provided 358,000 hot meals. Alongside meeting immediate needs, our work helps families access the healthcare, education and livelihood support they need to recover greater stability.
