SHAHNAZ BIBI'S STORY
Shahnaz Bibi, a widowed mother in rural Pakistan caring for children with disabilities, now has access to clean water after floods devastated her community.
CLEAN WATER IS HELPING SHAHNAZ PROTECT HER CHILDREN’S HEALTH.
“Since the installation of the solar water well, fetching clean water has become easier.”
Shahnaz Bibi lives in a rural community in Pakistan with her children, including two children with disabilities. After losing her husband, she became solely responsible for caring for her family.
For years, the community relied on contaminated water that was unsafe to drink. Families still used it for bathing, washing clothes, and daily life because there was no alternative. Through the installation of a solar-powered water well, Action For Humanity helped bring clean, reliable water closer to home.
“Masha’Allah, the quality of the water is very good,” Shahnaz said. “We use the water for cooking and drinking.”
For families like Shahnaz’s, access to clean water means safer living conditions, improved health, and one less burden in an already difficult daily life. “We are grateful to the people who donated this solar water well,” she said. “They have helped us immensely.”
What's Going On?
Shahnaz Bibi's story reflects a wider crisis unfolding across Pakistan. Floods have left millions of people without stable homes, income, or access to food. For many families, the struggle did not end when the waters receded, it continues every day.
