REBUILDING LIVELIHOODS IN YEMEN
Action For Humanity is helping farming communities in Yemen strengthen food production, rebuild livelihoods, and create a more resilient future.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
After more than a decade of conflict, millions of people across Yemen continue to face food insecurity, economic hardship, and limited livelihood opportunities. Farming communities have been particularly affected, with rising production costs, damaged infrastructure, and reduced access to agricultural equipment making it increasingly difficult for families to earn a living.
Through the Helping Agriculture Rebuild for Better Outcomes & Resilience (HARBOR II) project, Action For Humanity supported vulnerable farmers in Lahj Governorate with agricultural training, shared access to tractors, and practical support to strengthen food production. By improving farming capacity and building long-term resilience, the project helped families increase productivity, restore livelihoods, and create more secure futures for their communities.

RESTORING LIVELIHOODS THROUGH FARMING
After years of conflict, many farming families in Yemen have struggled to grow enough food or earn a reliable income. Rising costs, damaged infrastructure, and limited access to agricultural equipment have made it increasingly difficult for communities to support themselves.
Through this project, Action For Humanity provided agricultural training alongside shared access to tractors, helping farmers prepare land more efficiently, increase productivity, and reduce cultivation costs.
By strengthening local farming capacity, families are better equipped to provide for themselves, improve food production, and build more secure futures.
BUILDING RESILIENT COMMUNITIES
Building lasting change takes more than providing equipment. That's why this project focused on strengthening local knowledge, encouraging community ownership, and creating solutions that continue long after implementation.
Delivered in partnership with ICNA Relief Canada, farmers received practical training in modern agricultural techniques, while community-led tractor-sharing groups were established to promote collective responsibility and long-term sustainability.
Working alongside local agricultural associations helped ensure these resources continue supporting farming communities well beyond the life of the project.
