REBUILDING SYRIA
Thousands of Syrian families are ready to return home, but damaged housing remains one of the biggest barriers standing in their way.
Help Families Return Home
After more than 14 years of conflict, millions of Syrians remain displaced from the homes they once knew. Today, many families are ready to return. The challenge is there is nothing left to return to. Homes have been damaged by years of conflict. Roofs have collapsed, doors and windows are gone, and services no longer work.
For families who have spent years living in camps and temporary shelters, returning home remains out of reach without support. Yet despite everything they have endured, families continue to hold onto hope. With your support, we can help them take the first step towards rebuilding their lives.
The Biggest Barrier To Returning Home
Across Syria, many families are ready to return to the communities they were forced to leave behind. However, years of conflict have left countless homes damaged or destroyed. Without safe housing, returning home is simply not possible.
Families remain in temporary shelters and displacement camps, often separated from the livelihoods, support networks, and stability they once relied upon. Rehabilitating damaged homes helps remove one of the greatest barriers to return, enabling families to rebuild their lives with dignity and security.
How We Rebuild Homes
Action For Humanity supports families to rehabilitate homes that have been damaged by conflict but can be restored to safe living standards.
Repairs include roof and structural works, the installation of doors and windows, weatherproofing, sanitation improvements, and other essential safety measures. Each intervention is designed to ensure homes are safe and secure for families returning after years of displacement. By restoring homes, we help families move from uncertainty towards stability and independence.
Thousands of Syrian families are ready to rebuild their lives. Together, we can help make that possible. Your support will help families rehabilitate damaged homes, return safely to their communities, and begin rebuilding after years of conflict and displacement.

A Community-Led Approach
At the heart of our redevelopment programmes is the community themselves. Our local teams work hand in hand with community leaders to rebuild their homes and villages with an eye towards the future.
Through a cash-for-shelter approach, households receive phased financial support while our technical teams provide guidance and oversight throughout the rehabilitation process. This allows families to make decisions about their own homes and be involved in the process right from the start.
The approach also supports local workers, strengthens local markets, and helps communities recover together. By placing families at the centre of the process, recovery becomes more sustainable
