"My name is Aya. I live in this tent with my husband and five children. My youngest child is paralyzed, and my husband suffers from a fractured skull. I am heavily pregnant, and my heart is filled with fear. I cannot give birth naturally -I need a cesarean section but I have no hospital, no safe place. The thought of giving birth in this freezing tent terrifies me. I don’t know if I will survive.

War has taken everything from us. We fled from the north of Gaza, leaving behind our home and our dignity. Now, we have nothing - no food, no income, no medicine. I try to care for my children, but I feel powerless. My body is weak, but I must keep going for them.

Some nights, I wonder if it would be better not to wake up. But then I see my children’s faces, and I pray that someone will hear our story and help us before it is too late."
